Absztrakt The ever-wider range of products and the more and more easily accessible ingredients allow the consumers to prepare the necessary toiletries and cleaners – detergent, soap – by themselves, thus reintroducing certain chemical (raw) materials into everyday use, which a few generations ago used to be present not only in plants and factories but also in average households. Sodium hydroxide has a variety of uses (households, industry) so it is transported, stored and used in significant quantities, which require thorough professional competence. The goal of this article is the analysis of sodium hydroxide from the viewpoint of disaster management (industrial safety).
